Application

In the pigment industry, tin dioxide is mixed with chromate, chromium trioxide, lime, vanadium pentoxide, antimony pentoxide, chlorine, etc., to produce pink, beige, yellow, gray-blue, purple-gold and other colors, as a coloring agent for ceramics and enamel. In the glass industry, used in the manufacture of opal glass and as a glazing agent. Used as fabric mordant and weight increasing agent in printing and dyeing. Tin dioxide is also used as a raw material for the production of other tin compounds, as a catalyst for the oxidation of aromatic compounds as carboxylic acids and anhydrides in organic synthesis, and in the electronics industry.
